Chihuahua

Chihuahua

Meet Chihuahua, world’s smallest dog. Chihuahua’s are distinguished with some qualities that no other dog breed has. They are great companion Dogs. They are small in size, and become great friends to kids. Most fascinating thing about this breed is that they come in almost all colors and coats of dog breeds which are considered while buying a dog. Don’t let a breeder bluff you by giving him more money for a specific color, all colors can be available to any breeders at all, so don’t pay extra money for a specific color.

Chihuahua’s have great personality; they are play full and agile in nature, and one of the best watch dogs. They need very less exercise and training. They are very charming.

Chihuahua’s originally belonged to ancient Mexico, from a dog breed named Techichi. Chihuahua’s were regarded as gods by the ancient people of Mexico and were respected a lot.

This breed of dogs is very cheerful, there height is around 12 to 15 inches, and a maximum weight of 6 pounds mostly, but weight may vary, and can be more than 6 pounds. They live for a maximum life of 18 years approximately.

A Chihuahua is not very friendly with strangers and finds it uncomfortable to have them around. He can be well groomed with minimum attention though. Chihuahua’s are owner friendly dogs, they walk behind their owners, and they always follow them everywhere, with no regards of indoors or outdoors. They are also called as purse dogs, or tote dogs; they very comfortably adjust in shopping carts and bags while their people shop around.

The Chihuahua’s can be called as stubborn dogs, they don’t respect harshness, but they also possess zeal and can do attitude in their personality, if given food rewards, praises and are positively reinforced, they can be very obedient and perform several tasks enthusiastically. They are very over confident though, and will stand against larger dogs, and would eventually be injured by getting involved in an unbalanced fight.

These dogs should be kept familiar to all the people around them, because they find a stranger presence very unpleasant, that’s probably why . It is advised that they should be pets to the people who have kids under the age of eight years at home. Chihuahua’s need constantly great attention otherwise they could get hurt by their activities. Their small size can be advantageous sometimes though.

Important points while getting a Chihuahua:

1.

They should get medically tested for the clearance of diseases such as cardiac or hydrocephalus etc.

2.       They involve their selves in fights with other dogs if they are unfamiliar with them, which can potentially hurt them.

3.       Find good breeders who take care and train their dogs properly, with essentially and necessary medical examination.

4.       Don’t buy a Chihuahua in a toddler’s home; otherwise your dog has potential threat of getting hurt.

5.       Rules are important to keep a Chihuahua in its trained form, rules regarding food and entertainment most importantly.

6.       30 minute walk Is necessary for them, take longer walks with them if you can.

7.       Guard you Chihuahua from animals preys, keeping in sight his small size and considerable lack of energy.

8.       Cover them with some clothes when you take them out in cold weather or snow, because they don’t shiver so you won’t be able to know if you Chihuahua are cold or anything.

Chihuahua is bold and confident. They are very active and alert as them seem from their facial gestures, as we know that they are great watch dogs and best for families with children. Chihuahua’s mostly choose a single person to be their companion because of their sensitive nature; they are very affectionate to that single person always, so they should be kept familiar with all the family and friends.

They may possess some diseases that should be cleared with the breeders before buying a dog. It is necessary to take them to the vets periodically; else wise Chihuahua’s are safe to buy dogs. They may have patellar luxation or cardiac diseases which should be taken care of. They also sometimes possess hydrocephalus, and also shiver in cold weather.

Skin of Chihuahua’s is mostly soft and tender with slightly curly hair on it; its coat is very soft and a bit furry. It is a very small dog and the face is

Food for you Chihuahua:

Dry food shall be given to your Chihuahua to an amount of maximum half cup a day and not more. Food should be taken depending on the stomach size and activity level, so is the case with dogs, since Chihuahua is a small dog, and exercises less, he needs lesser food in comparison with bigger dogs.

Summary:

Unlike its size, Chihuahua’s has never ending energy, they are very strength full. They should be trained well, which is bit challenging but pleasant  because when you start understanding you dog, he will always respond to your positive reinforcement and care that you provide, in return they allow you to lead the pack and be the master. Keep your Chihuahua inside the house, or there could be a potential threat of his being preyed. Take them out for walk or a run frequently, which they will enjoy but under a constant watch. Dogs go out often, they need to be taken out for peeing etc, so don’t keep them in at times like after eating, before sleeping, after waking. Other than all this, it should be good, because Chihuahua’s are very nice when they are treated well. They will be a great companion to you.

It comes to my friends and family as a surprise that i am suddenly interested in reading about dogs. Dogs are known to be a faithful creature. They are like safety guards of their owners house. What has entirely impressed me about pet dogs is that they are friendly, and great compnions to humans, lovely, and very cute. Several breeds of dogs exist. Many of them are rebelious, hard to train/control, need to be seen after, need a ton of exercise everyday, are foody, and can be very noisy at times and much more. But after all, they are dogs and they need care but in return they give back more than the bargain that we faught for.

I have read about a variety of Pet Dogs and has chosen my favorite breeds already.

I was keenly interested in reading about chihuahuas and toy spaniels, also known as cavalier king charles spanial, a deep history behind this name. Both of these Dogs are friendly, need less exercise, are easily controlable and absorb things quickly, the chihuahus could be noisy at times but else they are just fine. but toy spaniels are ideal family dogs i think. They are also called lapdogs. They are beautiful looking and very human friendly, they are children friendly too. Hence, kids like them alot.

I will write about my favaorite and other best Pet Dog breeds on my blog soon.

This blog is created because of the great interest in pet dogs and for sharing the knowledge i love to write about.
