Comet has been feeling both a sense of duty and fear since the puppies were born. On one hand, Comet really cares about the puppies. He sits close by and watches over them, and if they cry he always gets really worried and runs over to see what is going on. However he is actually afraid of the puppies, because if they walk over to him he runs away. Here’s a video of him watching over two of the puppies.
